The whimsical and creative faction of Yeasayer is made up of the artistic and somewhat maniacal Anand Wilder, Chris Keating and Ira Wolf Tuton. These lads have scoured the minds of each other and favorites from the past for a pleasant array of artsy and magical moments in pop indie rock. Similar to the production sounds of Talking Heads, Brian Eno and maybe even XTC’s Andy Partridge who today is still a tech nerd when it comes to gadgets & studio gear Yeasayer have taken it to the next step and brought it into today’s wide open market of musical conceptions. Unlike the first album All Hour Cymbals this is more of a concrete thought out process and it also the ability to construct pop tunes with various infectious hooks and rhythms without compromising the use of commercial musical strategies. Love Me Girl is one of the most rousing tracks that hold some memories of past Pet Shop Boys classic sounds. Its danceable but has a structure of indie and sporadic parts of insanity. Listening to all the tracks here you’d be curious to see the band up on stage running around furiously spewing their energy into the crowd while performing these songs. Peek your curiosity and hit up your local record shop for this new album and dance around in your living room for a bit.
