This heavy bass driven mix will move any kindred spirit to the dance floor no matter what. Martyn Deijkers takes instrumentals and blasts them with a fierce raw energy. The term Garage could be used but it’s got more than that, the dubby seems to overshadow the funk and drives it further deep to a more state of harmony. The high point of the compilation is Cooly G’s “ Feeling You”. The lingering synth pads wisp by you but leave a memory of what would normally take years to develop. It’s surprising to know this is Martyn’s first official mix. Although some might disagree with the beats and sounds here there is defining warmth that brings all these tracks together. Jumping around from song to song the vocals mesh and don’t interrupt the short mixed tracks. Although when approaching the finish line the sound get a bit misconstrued for my tastes and the big room electro seems to overtake the soulful up rise of differences. After ”Vancouver” from Martyn the clash of progressive and ravesque sounds roll around and much like a sweaty raver you just have to walk away from the mess. The start to ¾ was a nice light shed on this musical expedition but I do have to stop it now.
