Jay-J
Love Alive

Jay-J is the house heads prefect producer/DJ. He stays in the genre realm and although he’ll explore with different kinds of sounds/instruments he doesn’t venture off into that middle ground where you usually would toss away the music and disown it. Some of the wonderful things you’ll hear on this album are the vocals from Michelle Shaprow, Fabian Leo and Big Brooklyn Red. Whether its soulful gospel or gritty smoky harmonies these and the rest of the vocalists will not let you down. Jay-J even appears on ’Watching You’. It’s a fun filled bumping track with some clubby elements and a dirty filtered vocal. ’Getting a Rise’ is a beautiful and powerful track. Its emotional synth sounds pop into your head and gets you up and jumping right away. Brian Bam Morgan is featured on this track and if you will enjoy the groovy funk and poppy rhythms as well. If you want to take it deeper and walk to a bass line ’Hundred Proof’ is your vibe. The raspy vocal from Fabian Leo drives the track alongside the percussion and smooth soul it projects. But of all the tracks here Jay-J & Michelle Shaprow win my heart on Whisper. The R&B groove just takes over and grabs your soul, no matter if you’re having a terrible day or just in love this song will capture you and give you the positive angle you need to keep going. Start to finish you’ll be happy with the sounds, beat arrangements and work Jay-J has put into this album, always a pleasure and I look forward to the next releases. [Oxide] www.shiftedmusic.com
