The members of OPOPO combine the electronic tones and driving beats of club music with the guitar and bass more commonly associated with rock. The result is a pumping beat-driven rock sound with looped vocals and lush analogue synthesizers.
This self-titled debut EP has six tracks, each with a heavy beat and intriguing electronic sounds.
Clockstop is a sing-along show-stopper that opens the album. Odoktro sounds more industrial, while Computer Menace is a little darker. Dktr Dktr has some clear Kraftwerk influence.
While we've only been given a taste of things to come, OPOPO has made a bold first impression.
