DJ NANA - The World Inside My Head Volume 2
Reported by: NA

Rating: NNN
This is a voyage through the non-genre-specific ideas of a versatile DJ and producer. NaNa first mixes Busta Rhymes's Gimme Some More into a bubbly bass-rich house music number, a peculiar but inviting opening to the 14-track experience.

The cutting of Common and Slum Village into the next R&B selection keeps the mercurial music loose and fluid. Funky interludes otherwise keep ears tuned in, and the production angles remain unpredictable and refreshing, definitely leaving curiosity piqued for future collaborations.

NaNa freestyles some truthful non sequiturs before Turbin spits with Planet Asia. Luke F. O.R.C.E. and Lep Noel also tag-team well over a low-key piano-sprinkled tune. The Saukrates redux works on some levels and not on others, but only because it's hard to improve upon the perfection that is Something For The Streets. Richie Hennessy's finale makes for one last swig of soulful intoxication before you leave feeling like everything is OK.
