GMAN & Rizk are Vancouver's (Canada's) premiere club, concerts, events, and party promoters. The list of awards and nominations they currently hold are as follows; 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 Clubvibes Nightlife Award for Promoter Of The Year, 2007 & 2006 Best Hip-Hop Club Night , 2006 Best Top 40 Club Night, 2006 & 2005 Clubvibes Best Hip-Hop Night Runner Up (Int'l Gold Fridays at Atlantis), 2004 Clubvibes Best Hip-Hop Night (Int'l Gold Fridays at Atlantis), 2004 Nomination for Best Hip-Hop Night (Grande Wednesdays), 2003 Fresh Groove Hip-Hop Pioneer Award (for contributions in building Vancouver's urban scene), 2005 UMAC Nominee Best Urban Promoter in Canada, 2002 UMAC Nominee (Urban Music Awards Of Canada) Best Urban Promoter In Canada, 2001 UMAC Nominee Best Urban Promoter In Canada, 2002 Nightlife Guide Award Urban Best Promoter and Best Club night, and 2001 Spectrum Award Best Club night (Grande Wednesdays at Sonar).
These are not just promoters that open the club doors and expect to take a cover charge from their consumers. They continually build and support the Canadian and World-wide scene often when the artists themselves are just starting out, with a goal of exposing the public to these Djs or acts and expanding the minds of the many that see the acts. Without GMAN & Rizk over 50% of all the urban talent would not have come to Vancouver.period! They currently also hold down one club night: Big Up Saturdays at Plush (750 Pacific Blvd) which is a sure shot for good vibes, as each is always packed to capacity.
The list of concerts that GMAN & Rizk have promoted is long (for a 2007 in review, check the "past events" section.) A handful worth noting is Snoop Dogg & The Game, 50 Cent & G-Unit, Hard Knock Life Tour (featuring Jay-Z, DMX, Redman , Method Man) Up In Smoke Tour (with Xzibet, Snoop, Eminem, Dre), Sticky Icky Tour, Eminem, Beatnuts, Jurassic Five, Jully Black, Kardinal Offishal, Rascalz, Swollen Members, Public Enemy, Roots, Pharsyde, Biz Markie, Del, Rasco, Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Black Sheep, De La Soul, Wyclef and more.
GMAN & Rizk are also responsible for breaking (1st ever to bring them into our market) and bringing the following DJs to Vancouver; Kid Capri, Baby Blue Sound Crew, Startin From Scratch, Jr.Flo, Clinton Sparks, Baby Yu & RG, Grandmaster Flash, Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike, Supreme, B-Mello, Starmtroopers, Beat Junkies, Cash Money, Vinroc, Apollo, Shortkut and much more. They were also the first to bring Canadian acts like Kardinal Offishal, George, Keshia Chante, Jully Black, Choclair, Saukrates, K-os and more.

ABOUT GMAN
GMAN has been marketing and promoting parties since 1990. After a trip down to Los Angeles he saw the flavor that was going down at an early age and knew he had to bring it back to Canada. On that trip he was at the ASR trade show and picked up a hot streetwear clothing brand and thereafter started Canada's #1 clothing/footwear distribution (for hip-hop, street/skate/snowboard wear called Timebomb Trading Inc (www.timebombtrading.com). Knowing that he needed to promote the brand the same way he saw it down in LA, he threw a massive party where 1,500 people showed up and the rest is history.
A couple years later he met partner Robert Rizk (Rizk) and that is when the weekly clubnights started. One of the most infamous was Vancouver's longest running and hottest real hip-hop night called El Famoso (7 years straight) at the Red Lounge. This night is legendary as it was the starting ground from Vancouver locals like J-Swing (Beat 94.5fm), Flipout (Beat 94.5fm, AMP), Kemo (Rascalz), Sean-ski, Physik, P-Luv and Bubbs (Boyscouts). This is also where infamous battles went down between Prevail (before he was Swollen Members) and Flipout. This night spawned one of Vancouver's first urban dance club nights called Grande Wednesdays at Sonar which lasted also 7 years straight! Next up came International Gold Fridays at Atlantis (and Wett Bar) which was also revolutionary for the Vancouver club scene and lasted a record breaking 9 years straight and solidly packed! The current weekly club night is Vancouver's award winning and biggest night which is going into year 3 and hosts 1,000 people per week called Big Up Saturdays at Plush (750 Pacific Blvd).
Around in 1993, GMAN started Djing as his love of music was deep and was soon headlining and opening for his club nights, other club nights, and major concerts (Nas, Pharsyde, Run DMC). He continues to DJ at all of his club nights but with the heavy promotions schedule, and distribution company he puts it as a second priority. His love of music is dancehall, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, rare grooves, old school, b-more, elctro, mash-ups, hip-hop, r&b…but also can include rock (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin), to punk (Bad Brains, Minor Threat),to house as he has a very open mind to all types. GMAN also rocks the mic as an MC or host at all the GMAN & Rizk events adding much flavor to the party.
GMAN also co-owns one of Canada's hottest sales agencies that represents such brands as LRG, Luxirie, Freshjive, eS Footwear, Etnies, Boxfresh, Dragon and more (www.nla.bc.ca). In 2004 he opened a retail sneaker boutique called Livestock (www.deadstock.ca) with partners Garry Boneand Rob Rizk which is currently up to 3 doors in Canada.
ABOUT RIZK
Rizk started out as a b-boy in what was then Canada's #1 b-boy crew called Contents Under Pressure which included Zeb-rok (now Nomad, Rascalz), Dedos (Rascalz), Flipout, J-Zar (now Goodfoot), and Bad Rok. He was also the official dancer for What The Hell which is now Madchild from the Swollen Members.
Rizk met GMAN at one of GMAN's parties as he (Rizk) was always attending and dancing up a storm. GMAN knew that with a distribution business in it's growing stages that he needed a good partner to help hold down the promo and this is when he picked Rizk to be that man.
Rizkstill continues to dance, but also picked up Djing around 1998. His true love of music is the Golden Era (Eric B and Rakim, Gang Starr, Slick Rick etc...) of hip-hop, Afro funk, Brazillian Jazz, and house music as it has an upbeat pace for the b-boy styles that Rizk likes to throw down. He is often hired as a headlining DJ and flys around the world to play.
In 2005, Rizk partnered with Garry Bone and GMAN to open Livestock (www.deadstock.ca) which is Canada's hottest footwear and apparel boutique.
