GEE WUNDER - Street Knowledge (Mixtape)
Reported by: Addi Stewart

Rating: NNN
Gee Wunder of the Live Motivators enlists the unstoppable DJ Law to weave together 18 selections on his mostly self-produced debut album, a sturdy blend of easy-listening Toronto-based hiphop freshness. Gee’s appealing voice glides over the sparkling new-millennium East Coast production, and it sounds like he’s having fun telling his story.

Tone Mason, Anwan Ease and Contraverse also provide beatscapes that range from competent to compelling, while Gee’s tone and cadence switch gears as necessary. He sufficiently separates himself from the rap rat pack and establishes his personality without perpetuating MC clichés. Gee shows his versatility by breaking the album into the Street Side and Knowledge Side, and while it’s not groundbreaking, it’s ultimately a solid production.
