DJ Cosm is the main producer and the DJ for Dragon Fli Empire. He was born and raised in Calgary. He fell in love with hip hop music
and DJing while in grade school after watching the movies Juice and Pump up the Volume, and has been a loyal fan ever since. He has
applied this knowledge to a self-taught talent for making hip hop beats and deejaying, and has excelled in both fields. As a producer, he
has collaborated with a number of top acts including Masta Ace, Craig G, Prince Po, Raashan Ahmad and Insight. As a DJ, he has
hosted programs on CJSW-FM for over 10 years, starting with a jazz program before moving into hip hop. He hosts the station’s flagship
hip hop show “Mental Illness”, going on for two hours every Sunday afternoon. He has also promoted many shows in Calgary, from
Canadian indie groups to icons like Del tha Funkee Homosapien and Aceyalone. Cosm has shared the stage with Big Boi, Cypress Hill,
Nas, Damian Marley, Slaughterhouse, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Public Enemy, Atmosphere, De La Soul, Slum Village, Boot
Camp Clik, Beatnuts, K'Naan, Shad, Classified, Bassnector and more.
