Hour Magazine (Montreal) - Album Review (June 2004)
Various - Underground Hip-Hop Volume 2 [URBNET Records]

By Steve Lalla (June 2004)

A rare compilation showcasing quality Canadian raps, UGHHv2 demonstrates the concise, deliberate methodology that dominates our country's hip-hop product with standout tracks from Feenom Circle, DL Incognito, Shadez, Scientifik, Anonymous Twist, and an exclusive by Urbnet's newest signing, Mathematik, alongside worthy contributions by Offsides, Marvel, a jazzy number by Mood Ruff, and more. By track 11, the upbeat ragga stylings of Tru-Paz's Rude Boy provide a welcome respite from the laid-back, calculated demeanour of the album's core. Refreshingly low on crack-slinging, ho-boning lyrical content.
